Cabanas Park is located in Cabanas de Tavira in eastern Algarve, on the edge of Ria Formosa (which is an important nature reserve), and approximately 20 miles from Faro Airport. A ferry is available to go across the lagoon to the almost deserted beaches of the islands. These offshore islands form a natural barrier to the ocean and the area is one of sand dunes, lagoons, mud flats, and canals. Also, the natural park of Ria Formosa is a wintering ground for many migratory birds.
